turkey with a side of cheetos

I sincerely hope you had a fan-tab-u-lous Thanksgiving. Mine was filled with family, turkey, baby Christmas trees, trying my hardest not to burn anything, thanksgiving cheetos, and a large amount of goofing around.

My table, well house really, wasn't big enough to hold everyone so we dined al fresco! My father-in-law even helped by preparing the thanksgiving cheetos!

Never heard of thanksgiving cheetos you say? Just pour cheetos in your favorite festive serving dish and wham, instant thanksgiving cheetos ;)

 I am so grateful for my family and their health and happiness. While its always good to be thankful for the big blessings in our life, its fun to be thankful for the little ones as well, like our thanksgiving cheetos, or the amazing expressions my little brother makes in photos.

Whats 1 big and 1 little thing that you are thankful for in your life?

couting down the hours

Hurry up Thanksgiving!  Everyone is already on break buts me!

I am still at work....and yes I did take these lovely snapshots whilst at work so you could enjoy my fluorescent prison a.k.a. my work cube. Isn't the scenery great? Thus the reason I like to add some pizazz around here (see some of my seasonal desk friends here). I can't wait to add some Christmas cheer to this dreary place!

I couldn't help but have some fun with this whole taking-pictures-of-myself-because-everyone-else-already-left-and-i'm-still-here-thing. So this is me pretending to type, but I think I look like I'm pretending to be a mouse or something haha. I had to lift my hands up really high above the keyboard so you could actually see them. There is no real typing going on just in case you wanted to know.

In other more exciting news all my brothers and sisters are coming to my house tonight for Thanksgiving. They were all actually in town this past weekend and there are so many of us we fielded our own kick ball game and just had lots of fun goofing around in the yard! Aren't big families the bestest?

Thoughts for a rainy day

People are often unreasonable,irrational, and self-centered;
Forgive them anyway.
If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives;
Be kind anyway.
If you are successful,you will win some unfaithful friends and some genuine enemies;
Succeed anyway.

If you are honest and sincere people may deceive you;
Be honest and sincere anyway.

What you spend years creating others could destroy overnight;
Create anyway.

If you find serenity and happiness, some may be jealous;
Be happy anyway.

The good you do today, will often be forgotten.
Do good anyway.

Give the best you have, and it may never be enough;
Give your best anyway.

In the final analysis, it is between you and God;
It was never between you and them anyway.

- Blessed Teresa of Calcutta

Hope these words bring you some strength on a rainy day. They always motivate me and remind me to constantly strive to be on the right path.

Because I always change my mind

I am a terrible decision maker. I don't know why, I just have a hard time sticking with one choice and going with it. I once heard that the more choices you have, the harder it is to decide and boy do I whole heatedly agree with that.

Halfway through my cheerios I am wondering if the raisin bran would have been the better choice. But then for the next 6 bites I am confident in my cheerio choosing, until that 7th fateful bite where I start craving raisins. Oh for the love of raisins!

haha you get the point, but I swear this happens the whole day in my little head whether it be cereal choices, or big humongo life choices, or blog design choices. My indecision is the only constant.

And speaking of indecision on blog design choices, I redesigned my header....hmmm.... again. And I am still not sure I can stop. Take a look at the old and new.

What do you think? Any advice for my indecisive self?

Cinnamon honey butter

Phew. I've been working like a busy bee to get my website for our honey business up and running. It still needs some love, but I posted a cinnamon honey butter recipe over there that I thought you might enjoy. Who doesn't love sugary sweet cinnamon goodness to spread on your toast or bagel? Go and take a look at it here! :)

Isn't it neat to think that we can drop by and say hello to someone halfway across the world?

hello! hola! bonjour!

I would bombard you with more hellos, but, alas, I only know those 3 off the top of my head.

Anyways, my point is, I think that it is so neat that I can reach out in blog land and talk to people from different cities, states or even countries that I would otherwise never get to meet.

I love meeting and getting to know everyone and finding out about their little corner of the world and what it's like. You guys are so kind and uplifting and I would love to return the favor somehow.

It might be small but, in honor of Veteran's Day I'm going to be praying for all of those who have served and are serving our country and in the spirit of global friendship I would like to pray for you too :)

Not everyone's life is as perfect or as shiny as they might lead you to believe, and we are all struggling with one thing or another or we know someone who is. Do you have a giant mega test coming up that your are nervous about? an ill relative? facing a tough decision? Worried about someone/something? or just having a bad day? I would love to say a prayer for you and your intentions.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this clip  I saw as part of post on how prayers are answered on a blog I read called Fallible Blogma. It's from the movie Evan Almighty. If you haven't seen it, the basic gist of the movie is a modern day version of Noah's Ark. Evan (played by Steve Carell) is told by God (played by Morgan Freeman) to build an ark and do that whole 2 by 2 animal jazz. In this clip Evan's wife is trying to sort out what's going on.

Please feel free to email me your prayer intentions a kait.beeloved [at] or leave them in the comments below. If you are shy and don't want to put a specific intention a simple 'yeah' will do :)

Hope you are having an extra lucky 11/11/11!

Queen of the kitchen

This is another doodle I did today.

I am a mediocre cook, but a slightly less mediocre baker.

The best food I make comes in a nice shiny box and can be found in the freezer isle,

Right next to the ice cream so you know it's good.

I am hosting thanksgiving at my house this year, and I have to feed 11 people, eek!
I have to get my cooking on.
or at least my 'this food is edible' on.

Not entirely sure how to cook a turkey yet
still working on looking that up

Good thing I have plenty of frozen foods ready for backup

All of this crazy weather that the north east is having is making me think a lot about snow.

I know losing power and driving around in it is the pits, but I have to tell you
 I’m kind of a big fan of snow…….and puppies.

Meet my sister’s dog Frosty, and my dog Penny.

Frosty - snow lover

Penny - snow hater

Penny does not share my love of snow, she is a snow hater.

This is a big problem in our relationship.

 Crunch crunch. Crunch crunch.
Oh look you can see my foot prints!
Oh and his little paw prints!! More walking!!
(crowd grumbles, penny whimpers and plots how she is going to tinkle on the rug later).

I have only gotten to see snow 3 times in my whole life. This might explain my fascination with it.
These photos are from last winter in Louisville. It started snowing at night but my sister and I were so excited we went outside and jumped around and took pictures.  Wheeeeeee!!

Are you a snow hater or snow lover?
